Ohana started his playing career with Beitar Jerusalem in 1980; four years later he made his international debut for Israel and soon became a regular in the national side. In 1987, Ohana moved to Belgium to play for KV Mechelen. He spent three successful seasons with them; he won the European Cup Winners Cup with the club. In 1991, he resigned for Beitar Jerusalem, where he spent another eight years playing for the Israeli club. He captained Beitar to two league titles in the mid 1990’s.
Avi Ran
Avi Ran is regarded as one of the greatest Israeli goal keepers of all time. He spent most of his playing career in goal for Maccabi Haifa. During his spell at the club, he helped them win two Israeli championships and was voted best player of the year in 1986 in the Israeli league. In that same season, he only conceded 18 goals, to this day it is the lowest number of goals conceded in the history of the Maccabi Haifa football team in a single season. He spent four years in goal for the Israeli national team; however he sadly passed away on July 11th 1987, when he was hit by a passing race boat.
